Codemasters announced that F1 Online: The Game is now in Open Beta. F1 Online: The Game is a new FTP (Free-To-Play) browser game that allows you to play both the racing and managerial side of F1.

To mark the launch, Codemasters has premièred the first gameplay trailer for the game on their website which shows teams racing around Silverstone, Spa and Monaco Grand Prix circuits while also inviting people to sign up to the beta so they can try it out.

F1 Online combines both the racing side of F1 with the managerial aspects. It’s like if you took FIFA and Football Manager and put them together.  The racing is done from a top down perspective and includes game modes such as Grand Prix, Time Trial and Challenges all of which is done online against other players.

As the manager you create your own F1 team with it’s own livery, emblem and what your driver helmet looks like. You also decide how to develop your Team HQ and create customise and upgrade your car. As the team boss you also get to research car components and choose how you want to upgrade your car.

The Open Beta is available to sign up to now on  www.F1OnlineTheGame.com

I have a huge passion for gaming! I'm not one of those guys who buys one game and plays it for the rest of their life (although I almost did with Oblivion!) but I love to try any and all games for the pure joy and excitement that it brings! Unless its REALLY rubbish... Twitter: jamesthompson8
