New Screenshots for Final Fantasy XIV Online on PS3

The first screenshots of Square Enix’s second attempt at Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn for the PS3 has been revealed! The screenshots show off the user interface that will be featured on the PS3 version which will make full use of the PS3 controller configuration.

The UI can be completely customised to match the players style but have been designed to match the traditional control scheme you would expect from a Final Fantasy game but will also feel familiar to other RPG players.

There is also new artwork that show off the Primals who will apparently play a big role in the story of Final Fantasy XIV. Other artwork shows off some of the available armour sets and Chocobo mounts that will be available.

This will be Square Enix’s second attempt at Final Fantasy XIV after the first release was met with criticism and a overall lack of interest from the MMORPG community. They are hoping that re-launching the game as well as porting it to the PlayStation 3 will help drive more interest in the game after the previous online Final Fantasy game: Final Fantasy XI was the most profitable Final Fantasy they ever made.

The game will be re-released as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on PC and PS3 in 2013.

I have a huge passion for gaming! I'm not one of those guys who buys one game and plays it for the rest of their life (although I almost did with Oblivion!) but I love to try any and all games for the pure joy and excitement that it brings! Unless its REALLY rubbish... Twitter: jamesthompson8
