Sony Announces the New PS3

Today at Sony’s TGS conference they announced after a heavy amount of rumours the new PS3 and it’s design is exactly how the rumours speculated it to be. Seriously can’t companies keep secrets any more!? None the less this is the rumoured PlayStation “Super Slim” seeing as they already made a PlayStation Slim.
The look of the PlayStation has changed. It is now half the weight of the Original 60GB PS3 and 20-25% lighter than the current models. The Super Slim now sports a sliding door to put your games into which is supposed to keep it’s “characteristic sleek curved simple body design”. There will also be an option to buy a separately sold vertical stand so if you decide to stand the console vertically you won’t risk knocking it over.
In Europe the New PS3 will come in two models. A 500GB HDD model and a Petit 12GB Flash Memory model with the option to upgrade it by connecting a dedicated 250GB HDD that will be sold separately. The 500GB model extends the current capacity of the Slims which are 320GB and 160GB. The 12GB model is made so it can offer “opportunities to experience the world of PlayStation at an affordable price point.”
For those interested, this is the full specs of the console.
