Nintendo has announced a heap of info about the upcoming Wii U at it’s Nintendo Direct conference.
In the UK the Wii U will arrive November 30th. Just in time for the Christmas Rush and will come in two different models and 3 package options.
The Basic model will include 8GB of Memory, The Console in White, Gamepad, HDMI Cable and AC Adapter.
The Premium model will include 32GB of Memory, The Console in Black, Gamepad, Gamepad Sensor Bar, Charging Cradle and Stands and the Nintendo Land mini-games. The Premium will also give you membership to a Nintendo Premium subscription. It gives you discounts on Nintendo games bought off the eStore. A press release mentions that its ”a reward programme that grants points for digital purchases in Nintendo eShop. Valued at around 10% of the original Nintendo eShop price, this credit can be used against future purchases once you reach a minimum of 500 points.”
There will also be a Premium pack that comes with ZombiU and the Pro Controller to replace Nintendo Land.
Prices are currently varied as Nintendo never sets an RRP for its products so for the next two months expect to see retailers fluctuate their prices in order to compete with each other. Currenly Zavvi is the cheapest with the Basic costing £229.99, the Premium costing £279.99 and the ZombiU Premium costing £299.99.
The games that will be released on Launch Day include Nintendo Land, “New” Super Mario Bros. U, Mass Effect 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, ZombiU and Rayman Legends. Overall 50 games have been confirmed for the Launch Window.
What probably took most people by surprise was the announcement of a game everyone though would never be getting a sequel and that game was Bayonetta 2. This made me very happy as I loved the first Bayonetta almost as much as I love Devil May Cry (which is A LOT) but hearing the news made me both annoyed and thankful at the same time. I shall explain why in my Opinion Piece!
So are you going to buy a Wii U? Is the price set just right? Does the games announced wet your appetite? Let us know in the comments!
